About the Role
Keyrock is seeking a Technical Lead to oversee the technology for its Strategic Market Making team. You’ll architect and develop high-frequency trading platforms, guide a multidisciplinary team, and ensure the delivery of secure, high-performance systems. This is a high-impact leadership role with remote flexibility, ideally for candidates based in the UK or Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide both strategic direction and hands-on development across high-performance trading systems
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, promoting innovation, agile practices, and technical excellence
• Translate product roadmaps into scalable architectures and engineering plans
• Define and uphold best practices in software development, including CI/CD and test-driven development
• Architect robust and secure systems with continuous performance optimization
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and System Architect to align technical strategy
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies for measurable business value
• Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and 24/7 system reliability

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Proven expertise in building and maintaining high-concurrency, low-latency trading systems
• Advanced proficiency in Rust or C++ (Rust willingness to learn required); knowledge of Node.js and Python is a plus
• Experience with real-time data pipelines and data-intensive architectures
• Strong AWS skills for deploying and optimizing ultra-low-latency workloads
• Production experience with containerization and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with GitOps workflows, DevOps principles, and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of DevSecFinOps practices for security and cost governance
• Demonstrated engineering leadership and mentorship
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
• Deep domain knowledge in finance, trading, or cryptocurrency markets
• Experience in high-growth fintech or fast-paced financial environments
