About the Role

As an embedded software engineer with a focus on Rust, you will cooperate with interdisciplinary teams in projects and experience how technology and team spirit unite to create innovative solutions. Your job will involve working closely with clients to develop, test, and ship products that meets their needs. You will efficiently and competently solve complex challenges.

As an embedded software engineer at Zühlke, you’ll be able to work across a variety of systems, competencies, technologies, and industries. Besides Rust, we leverage technologies like C, C++, Embedded Linux, and Python for our projects across the globe. We care about power consumption and performance of our products and improve their real-time behaviour. The actual programming is just one part of our job. Requirements engineering, architecture, testing, documentation and DevOps are just as important.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that good engineering practices are applied in daily work
• As a part of an agile team, you will develop products, embedded software architectures or automation pipelines, creating high-quality solutions while adapting to customer requirements
• You pay attention to a clean structure, good performance and sensible test coverage
• Directly communicating with customers
• Propose technical innovations, methods and principles that could be implemented on a project
• Support other colleagues and participate in the onboarding process for new teammates

Requirements:

• Experience in software development with Rust
• Knowledge of modern C++, Embedded Linux, RTOS or bare metal real-time systems would be a plus
• Experience in GUI applications development on embedded devices would be a plus
• You have a technical-related degree and/or equivalent professional qualification
• You value high-quality code and want to improve and share your knowledge of the latest technologies every day.
• You are fluent in English (both written and oral)
• You are communicative, open-minded and like making decisions
• You have experience effectively communicating with stakeholders outside of your team in agile environments.
