About the Role
Join a pioneering defense-tech manufacturer as a Principal Engineer, where you'll lead the architecture and development of a cutting-edge Factory Operating System. This role is pivotal in shaping the next-generation domestic artillery production line, set to launch in 2026. You'll tackle complex challenges in a dynamic technical environment, working with technologies like Go, Kafka, Kubernetes, and more to deliver robust, production-grade software that operates 24/7 on the factory floor. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, providing a decisive edge to our servicemembers.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Go, or experience with Rust/C++/Java and a willingness to adopt Go.
• Expertise in event streaming technologies such as Kafka or Pulsar.
• Experience with Kubernetes in production operations.
• Familiarity with edge I/O protocols like OPC UA, MTConnect, and MQTT.
• Strong skills in data and storage technologies, including PostgreSQL, Neo4j, MinIO/S3, and Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of backend services using gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and Avro.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic client interaction capabilities.

What Sets You Apart

• Experience with MES/MOM or SCADA integration.
• Familiarity with Apache Flink for real-time analytics.
• Experience in ETL pipelines and database migrations.
• Contributions to open-source Go projects or automation tools.
• Experience working in AS9100 or similar regulated environments.
• Previous consulting experience.
