Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Software Engineer with proficiency in Rust and C/C++ to join our fully remote team. You will contribute to building secure, high-performance systems and enhancing SpiderOak’s core codebase. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge, cryptographically secure technology while deepening your expertise in distributed systems and cryptography. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and implementation of secure systems using Rust and C/C++
- Extend and improve our existing codebase, ensuring performance and reliability
- Collaborate across teams to develop secure and scalable solutions
- Build expertise in cryptographic principles and their application in real-world systems
- Translate user and mission requirements into technical solutions
- Recommend and develop system configurations and software/hardware integrations
- Apply structured approaches to architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment
- Participate in Agile/Scrum workflows, contributing to continuous improvement
- Support integration and deployment of systems and services across various environments
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Rust and C/C++ programming languages
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based development environments
- Solid understanding of software development best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
- Interest in cryptography and secure system development
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant industry experience in software engineering or system development
