Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Two Six Technologies is seeking a Lead Rust Software Engineer to support our applied mathematics and formal methods team in their cutting-edge research efforts. This role focuses on software development in Rust, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers. - Design and implement software solutions using Rust, emphasizing security, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to implement high-assurance software architectures.
- Develop APIs and interfaces to support research-driven software solutions.
- Contribute to scalable and modular software design methodologies.
- Maintain best practices for Rust development, including secure coding principles and performance optimizations.
- Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders to refine requirements and transition research concepts into operational capabilities.
- Stay up-to-date with Rust ecosystem advancements and emerging software engineering practices.
What You Will Need (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s or PhD may be considered in place of some years of experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of software development experience with a strong proficiency in Rust
- Proficiency in at least one additional modern programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++).
- Experience with memory-safe programming or development in memory-safe languages.
- Experience with operating systems internals, including memory management and system-level programming.
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
Nice If You Have (Preferred)
- Experience with low-level systems programming or embedded software development.
- Familiarity with performance profiling, debugging, and optimization techniques.
- Experience integrating Rust within multi-language codebases.
- Background in cybersecurity, software verification, or high-assurance software development.
- Experience working with research-driven development teams.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Security Clearance
- Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI
