About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Software Developer to join our team in building innovative and scalable SaaS solutions. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the core systems that power our products.
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will include, but will not be limited to:
- Creating new and modifying existing infrastructure
- Creating and testing redundancy systems
- Setting up test environments
- Product stress testing and benchmarking
- Collaborating with junior and peer team members and providing technical feedback
- Creating and maintaining automation and monitoring scripts
- Technical onboarding of new team members
Requirements:
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience in a software development or contractor environment
- Experience with building and managing large-scale Postgres/ Redis instances/clusters
- In-depth knowledge of Horizontal Scaling techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset combined with experience troubleshooting large-scale systems
- Experience with debugging and identifying performance bottlenecks
- Knowledge of security best practices
- In-depth knowledge of Linux systems (specifically, Ubuntu/Alpine)
- Experience with core areas of AWS services
- Experience building and maintaining customised CI/CD workflows (CircleCI or similar)
- Container tools experience with Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience working in the Node.js ecosystem
Nice to Have Skills or Experience:
- Experience working in start-up environments
- Creating and managing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or OpenTOFU)
- Solid understanding of building scalable, high-performing systems and services
- Expertise with big data, analytics, machine learning, and data personalisation
- Experience using configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)
- Experience with incident response services and workflows (PagerDuty or similar)
- Experience with the Rust ecosystem
- Experience with PL/pgSQL
Compensation:
$115,000 - $145,000 per year base salary plus an options grant commensurate with capacity for contribution to the team
Position Type
Nature: Permanent, full-time, and in person
Time Commitment: 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime required
Location: Vancouver, BC
