About the Role
The project involves building and maintaining an enterprise-grade desktop application for Windows or Mac, with potential support for Linux. The application is designed to operate as a lightweight, agent-like client that securely integrates with the client’s cloud services and, optionally, with browser extensions.
You will work closely with architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to design and deliver features that enable secure communication, reliability, and minimal resource consumption.
What else you should know:
- The team includes a technical lead, senior engineers, and QA engineers
- The client is based in the US, but the team operates in European time zones
- You join a mature engineering culture with strong emphasis on code quality, CI/CD automation, and secure development practices
We work on multiple interesting projects at the same time, so we may invite you to an interview for another project if we see that your competencies and profile are well suited for it.
Key Responsibilities
As a part of the project team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining agent-like desktop applications for Windows or Mac (Linux optional)
- Developing OS-specific features enabling secure cloud communication directly or via browser extensions
- Working closely with stakeholders to align technical solutions with project requirements
- Conducting code reviews, contributing to test frameworks, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
As a Software Engineer, you must meet the following criteria:
- 7+ years in software development, with at least 3 years on desktop apps (Windows or Mac
- Proven expertise in Rust and system-level programming
- Strong understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and RPC
- Confidence in reading and producing system design documentation
- Experience in building cloud-integrated software with minimal UI
Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves: - Knowledge of (any)Go, JavaScript, or C++
- Building CI/CD pipelines experience
- Understanding cloud integrations and API design best practices
