About the Role
The Senior Rust Developer will support the Georgia Department of Human Services’ modernization efforts by developing high-performance, reliable systems in Rust. The role involves building and optimizing applications for scalability, integrating modern software practices, and improving system reliability and performance within the agency’s modernization framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-performance applications using Rust’s ownership model and type system.
• Write safe, concurrent, and efficient code aligned with Rust best practices.
• Lead the development of advanced features and systems.
• Review and optimize code for performance, safety, and scalability.
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and guidance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.
• Integrate Rust applications with existing and third-party systems.
• Deploy and monitor production applications.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and implement automation practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Required
• 10 years of professional software development experience. Required
• 5 years of Rust development experience. Required
• 3 years of experience as a Lead Developer or similar role. Required
• Strong knowledge of memory management, concurrency, and systems programming. Required
• Experience with Rust ecosystem tools and popular crates. Required 5 Years
• Knowledge of async programming frameworks (tokio, async-std, etc.). Required 5 Years
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization. Required
• Experience with automation platforms like SaltStack. Required 3 Years
• Proficiency with AWS, GitHub, and GitLab pipelines. Required 5 Years
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Required
• Strong ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Required
• Self-driven, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies.
