We are developing Qdrant, an open-source technology that enables developers to use cutting-edge, blazing-fast vector similarity search. Our flagship product is the open-source Vector Similarity Search Engine: https://github.com/qdrant/qdrant. Our mission is to provide a scalable, cost-effective, open-source solution that simplifies the development of applied-AI applications. We are a fast-growing startup, and we are looking for a Rust Software Engineer to join our team.

About the Role
We are looking for a Rust developer to help us with the development of our core project.
Among the technical challenges, we facing are: low level optimizations, implementation of a new versions of indexing algorithms, GPU computing, and distributed deployment.

Requirements

• Rust Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Rust programming.
• Linux Kernel Proficiency: A deep understanding of the Linux Kernel, including:

1. Memory management with `mmaps`
2. Advanced networking concepts
3. Understanding of concepts like `io_uring`

• Data Structures & Optimization: Expert knowledge in data structures and optimization techniques, e.g. a clear understanding of the advantages of B-Trees over binary trees.
• Asynchronous Programming Skills: Good grasp of asynchronous programming concepts, particularly with `futures`, `tokio`, or similar frameworks.
• Search Engine and Database Architecture: Experience in designing and working with the architecture of search engines and database systems, emphasizing performance and scalability.

Nice to have:

• experience with GPU programming (shaders, CUDA, e.t.c.)
• experinece with SIMD
• experience with kernel-level development or eBPF
